Why we want you

As a food bank we have a vision to end the need for our services in our local community. We are recruiting a Data and Impact volunteer to support us to use our data to help us make better, evidence-based decisions that respond to need, reflect the community, and help shape the delivery of our strategy. Our data comes from various sources, including our database, referral agencies, public data sets, and the voices of our staff, volunteers, and people who are referred to our food bank. You will analyse and interpret the data and provide reports on your findings in response to operational and strategic requests.

Why volunteer with us?

Volunteering is a fantastic way for you to be involved in your local community and volunteers are at the heart of all that we do as a food bank. The role of volunteers dedicating their time and skills to support people in crisis will continue to be critical as we work to fulfil our vision of seeing a UK without the need for food banks.

Support and personal development

This role requires a minimum commitment of 12 months. You will be given all the required training and ongoing support and development opportunities whilst volunteering with us, including training on the use of our systems, Safeguarding, and Data Privacy and Protection.

You will have a main contact at the food bank, and we are happy to arrange a taster session for you to meet other volunteers and to find out more about the role and the food bank. We will also buddy you up with another volunteer during your first few weeks.

This role can be from home; however, you will be required to spend some time in the food bank to understand how the food bank operates and to connect with other volunteers and our staff.

How to apply

Whatever your background we want to make sure you are supported, empowered, and enjoy your time volunteering with us. We know that having volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds, and with varying experiences, can help to make what we do as effective as possible. As such, we welcome all applicants regardless of age, religion or beliefs, disability, ethnic background, gender reassignment, sex, or sexual orientation. We also encourage those with lived experiences of poverty to apply.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has the experience, skills, and a keen interest in managing data.
