Food bank driver (Van driver Friday - St Albans)

Our food bank provides emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while campaigning for a UK without the need for food banks. Without our volunteers, selflessly donating their time, we simply would not be able to support the thousands of people in crisis.

The number of people needing food banks has increased in recent years and we anticipate this trend to continue especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. As a driver you will play a vital role to our food bank ensuring that we are meeting the demand for our services, providing help and support to people in crisis in the local community.

We need van drivers to join the rota for Friday rotas. These normally involve the following:

Morning

Start 9:15 - load van and transport to Distribution Centre in London Colney. Return to warehouse load and transport to Distribution Centre in Harpenden then continue to London Colney and collect unused parcels. Return to warehouse and unload.

Afternoon

Start 13:15 Empty the permanent collection points in two supermarkets in Harpenden and bring back to warehouse in Redbourn. About 14:45 drive to the Distribution Centre in Harpenden to collect unused parcels, return them to the warehouse and unloading the van.
