Food bank centre helper (Tottenham Food Bank)

Induction training is rolled out every 3 months so if you can't make the 18th May please keep an eye out for future dates or contact volunteers@tottenham.foodbank.org.uk and they will add you to the wait list.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be able to volunteer a minimum of once a month for period of at least 6 months.
• Must sign up for training shift within a month of induction

As a Food bank centre helper you will play a vital role giving direct support to people who use food banks, meeting and greeting people coming into the food bank, packing their food parcels, making them feel comfortable and providing further signposting support where appropriate. Shifts are Monday 11.45am - 2.15pm and Thursday 4.45pm - 7.15pm at Tottenham Town Hall where the food bank is based.

The induction will provide you with an in-depth understanding of what the Trussell Trust is, how Tottenham food bank operates, what goes into a parcel, the different roles within the food bank centre, safeguarding etc. This will not only give you a much better understanding of the Food Bank and its role in the community, but also the knowledge and understanding to confidently take on this vital volunteer role.
