Food bank centre helper (Food Bank Centre Volunteers (Induction training))

This is the induction for Tottenham food bank centre volunteers. As a Food bank centre helper you will play a vital role giving direct support to people who use food banks, meeting and greeting people coming into the food bank, packing their food parcels, making them feel comfortable and providing further signposting support where appropriate.

This training will provide you with an in-depth understanding of what the Trussell Trust is, how Tottenham food bank operates, what goes into a parcel, the different roles within the food bank centre etc. We will also cover safeguarding issues and training.

We believe that this training will not only give you a much better understanding of the Food Bank and its role in the community, but also the knowledge and understanding to confidently take on this vital volunteer role

Shifts are Mon 11.45 - 2.15pm and Thursday 4.45 - 7.15pm at Tottenham Town Hall where the food bank is based. All induction training takes place on a Saturday, lunch and refreshments are provided
